PENCIL Foundation and eight other nonprofit organizations have been invited  to participate in the 2010 Delek Golf Tournament for Hope. This is the primary fundraiser for the Delek Fund for Hope, a component of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

 

The tournament is October 7-8 at the Gaylord Springs Golf Links. PENCIL has secured two foursomes to golf on our behalf. For this, PENCIL will receive a $12,000 grant from the Delek Fund for Hope!
 

At the end of the tournament, charities designated first, second, third-place winning teams in each of the three flights, as well as the overall winner, will be recommended to receive grants associated with the winning teams. Based on our golfers’ scores, PENCIL could receive another $10,000 from The Delek Fund for Hope.                      

THE GREAT GOLF BALL DROP
The tournament will hold its second annual Golf Ball Drop on October 7, providing charities yet another opportunity to receive grant money. The puchase of $10 tickets will increase the number of PENCIL-inscribed golf balls that will be dropped from a helicopter. The charity whose name is on the golf ball landing in the hole first, or closest to the hole will be recommended for a $5,000 grant from the Delek Fund for Hope.

In addition, PENCIL retains 100% of the Great Golf Ball Drop ticket sales to benefit our LP PENCIL Box whose inventory suffered in the May flood due to contamination, necessitating disposal of $35,000 worth of schools supplies. We must replenish the inventory for the 2010-2011 school year.
