The JTG staff is composed of 10 job specialists and a program director. They work diligently to help program participants master essential academic and employability skills, increase career awareness, overcome barriers, remain in school, and make a smooth transition from school to work. They also provide twelve months of intensive follow-up assistance for each participant.
The Middle School Career Exploration Program takes place at Cameron and Wright Middle Schools in an afterschool setting. Students take part in service-learning projects, internships, job shadowing as well as a week-long summer camp at Glencliff High School. The goal of the program is to help students build communication and decision making skills, identify career interests and explore their career options.
In addition to working with youth, program staff provide technical support to state and national JAG programs by conducting staff development workshops and training new job specialists. They also maintain the JAG Data Management System for Tennessee.
