Teacher Shopping begins August 13, 2014

Dear MNPS Teachers,

Thank you for your patience as we have been going through some major changes here at the Box.  And wow, do we have some exciting things in store for you!  

THE STAFF!!  We have a new Box Manager, Kerry Conley.  She is very passionate about serving teachers and students and has been working extra hard all summer to get the Box in tip-top shape for your shopping pleasure this fall.

THE STORE!!  Dedicated volunteers have done a lot of cleaning and sorting and have made tons of space in our storerooms so we can stock even more of the items you really need for your students -- like NEW paper, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks and folders. And to make your shopping experience more pleasant, we cleaned, rearranged and added new signage. Even more exciting, we are working to automate our check-out process to make the whole experience more efficient.

If you would like to “plan your trip” you can download a copy of our STORE MAP and our updated TEACHER SHOPPING FORM.  please note: we make every effort to keep all items in stock but we cannot guarantee we will have all items on your visit.

THE HOURS!!  The store will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3–6 p.m. on Aug. 13-15, Aug. 20-22, and Aug. 27-29. Also, the store will be open on two Saturdays, Aug. 16 and Aug. 23, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. (NOTE: If a date is grayed out, that means there are no remaining shopping slots.) We are working to stay open more regularly throughout the school year, so we’ll keep you posted about these opportunities as we get them finalized.

All of these changes, coupled with our new focus on stocking NEW supplies, mean that we can’t open before school starts on August 6, and we are sad about this. But we strongly believe that this new focus will make it all worthwhile and we hope, after you come shopping, that you will agree with us.

All Metro teachers are invited to shop twice per school year; once in the fall semester and again in the spring.  Appointments are required and 
can be made by clicking Register Now at the top of the page. You will receive a confirmation upon making an appointment.

Helpful hints for scheduling an appointment:
  • If you cannot click on a day or time, that means there are no appointments available for that day. You will have to select another day and time.
  • In the "Business Name" field, please enter your school name.
  • Your telephone number MUST include the area code.
  • Please provide two contact phone numbers and ensure that your contact information is current.
Other guidelines:
  • Please bring your own shopping bags.
  • Please do not bring guests. We have limited space and several teachers shopping at once. If you have children with you, we will ask that they are seated in the waiting area.
  • Be on time. If you need to reschedule your appointment please do so online.
  • Please be ready to check out when the store closes. We rely on volunteers to assist during shopping hours so please be respectful of their time.
  • Upon checkout, each teacher will be given a homework assignment - to send a thank you note to a donor. Please help us in our efforts to recognize our generous donors!
