LP PENCIL Box is excited to serve you and your students. LP PENCIL Box, now in its 5th year, serves all MNPS elementary, middle and high school teachers. The stocked and operated with the help of generous volunteers.

NOTE: LP PENCIL Box is currently closed for teacher shopping and will re-open January 19th.

You must make an appointment online in order to shop for free supplies at our store. Every teacher can shop once per semester. Please don't forget to thank our volunteer helpers!


LP PENCIL Box Spring Semester Hours: 2 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

For your convenience, there are Saturday shopping dates available.

February 20, 2010, 9am-4pm
March 27, 2010, 9am-4pm

LP PENCIL Box rules:

• Please bring your own shopping bags.
• We have several teachers shopping at once so we ask that you do not bring guests with you.
• Please be on time! If you need to reschedule your appointment please do so online.
• Please be ready to check out when the store closes.

Teacher Volunteer Opportunities
 Teachers that sign up to volunteer at LP PENCIL Box can take an additional 10 items home!  For a list of volunteer opportunities, visit our volunteer page.

Shopping at LP PENCIL Box

It is estimated that teachers leave with $260 worth of supplies each shopping trip. Available items will vary as the store is stocked by donations. We serve all 5,050 Metro teachers and want to make sure everyone gets the same opportunity so limit signs are placed on items according to how many are in stock. Supplies are for the classroom and students only - not for personal use!

In the basic supply room, teachers can choose 40 items. Supplies include backpacks, pencils, paper, crayons, markers, books, and more. In the Green Room, teachers can pick up 40 additional items, which include gently used office supplies or odds and ends like carpet squares, fabric samples, binders, magazines, containers, and other hidden treasures.
