LP PENCIL Box is a free school supply store for educators that provides learning materials for impoverished students in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. We are able to provide educational & art supplies through the support of local businesses, organizations and individuals throughout the year.

LP PENCIL Box is a partnership between the Nashville business community and the city's public schools. We encourage organizations and individuals to donate both new and gently used school supplies, surplus office supplies, and to recycle art supplies by giving them to the store.
LP PENCIL Box is a collaboration with the LP Foundation, the charitable arm of
LP Building Products. They are gracious enough to provide a grant which matches support received from businesses, organizations and individuals in order to encourage the community to support the program.
The store is located in McCann Alternative Center, 1300 56th Ave. North.

Teachers will be allowed to shop during the regular school year,
Wednesdays from 3 – 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
*** This month LP PENCIL Box is in the running for the Pepsi Refresh Everything grant! Help vote us into the top ten so we can receive $50,000 towards school supplies for Metro teachers. In May, the store was closed due to the enormous damage suffered during the floods. Around $35,000 worth of school and office supplies were ruined. But thanks to hundreds of amazing volunteers and a community that has supported the program with new donations, we have been able to re-open in time for school to begin. THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us through this difficult time!
Since its inception in 2005, LP PENCIL Box has distributed more than $1.8 million in school supplies to Nashville's neediest students. We could not do this without the support of the Nashville community.
