Financial Literacy

Comprehensive Financial Fitness Education provides participants with valuable basic financial knowledge to help them develop smart money management skills that will empower them to achieve financial independence. With the Mortgage Default Counseling component, participants can help avoid foreclosure or be provided assistance during the foreclosure process. Certified agency counselors provide information on the foreclosure process.


Homebuyer Education

For most people, buing a home is the singlel largest purchase made in a lifetime. It's important that prospective homebuyers gain the financial skills needed to build a good credit historoy, combined with savings and/or emergency funds. This building of funds helps create the foundation for sustainable wealth and eventual omeownership.

Prepurchase education provides participants with components which are designed to educate and build new skills for prospective buyers on all facets of the home buying process. Typical subjects include homeownership readiness and affordability; money and credit management; types of properties and financing available, purchase, mortgage and closing process and home maintenance and financial management after the sale.  The content is delivered by certified agency staff and various real estate professionals on their specific areas of expertise.
